Should I Wear A Veil On My Wedding Day?…

May 25, 2019 by Social Media Team

Thank you for sharing Paddington Weddings….

Now obviously I am a little biased, I work in a beautiful bridal studio every day so generally that will make me on team veil!

But I have to be honest, the most important thing that you must keep in mind is that your veil compliments your dress and finishes your look.

The biggest mistake brides make is trying to borrow a veil that is the wrong colour, cheap looking or just not the right style for the dress you have chosen.

Why spend all that money on a dress and then ruin the look by wearing the wrong veil??

“A good veil takes your breath away and you instantly know you feel like a bride when you put it on.

A bad veil overtakes the look, overwhelms you or you just feel plain silly when you put it on”.

At the moment it is the longer the better that is ‘on trend’ but the detailing is simple and elegant which mirrors the style of gowns that we are finding brides are falling in love with at the moment.

Boho is certainly on its way out and a more refined version is very much in its place.

Gowns are still soft and relaxed in their style but they are now paired back with cleaner lines, a much easier style for brides to wear, especially if they are not 6 ft tall or a size 8!

This is allowing brides to be a little braver when it comes to their veil, the waterfall pearl veil is just stunning at the moment with a scattering of pearls at the crown of the veil it replaces the need for any headpiece.

The Chantilly lace bottom veil is the modern version of the traditional mantilla with a 2019 twist, it looks amazing Cathedral length and you will never want to take it off.

A circle cut veil will allow you to wear the veil over your face as you walk down the aisle, it is 50/50 if brides do this these days but as long as you keep the cut simple it brings a romance like no other.

So in my opinion, you only get one chance to wear a veil so make sure it is the right one, come in and see Anne or myself at Paddington Weddings and we will give you honest, expert advice.

We have a fabulous collection of veils in our studio that can be tailored for your individual needs at reasonable prices.
